To those of us now FREE....
by The Rebel inon another thread i commented " the most wonderful thing for me about having left the organisation is giving an education to my child, encouraging him to be dedicated and committed to the person he himself wants to be".
for me that is the best thing about being free from the organisations control.. what has been your best realisation having left the organisation?.

I have never been a JW, but have been "in" for 20 years by virtue of my marriage to a JW. For 17 years I believed that the JW leadership was a group of sincere, religious people. After three years of research and thanks to blogs like these, I have learned the dishonest, cruel, possibly criminal kind of organization the WT is. As a result of my investigations I pulled my 12 year old out of it 3 years ago. No more preaching or theocratic school. Fast forward to today, he can claim a long list of worldly friends from Japan, South Korea, his school swim team, his school Track and Field, his school theater classes. He is having one hell of a time being a worldly kid. So far, he's traveled to Europe and South America (we are from the U.S.). He is going to Japan next year and South Korea the year after. And yes, he is a straight A student aiming for the best possible university and lots of worldly goals.
Big middle finger to you Watchtower! Can't have this kid

The Mark,
Don't wait until Friday, apologize now. Get informed about the job of the Royal Commission. They have done a superb job so far, and there's nothing, absolutely nothing that warrants your comment. You really have a handicapping problem trusting other people. Believing that the world is corrupt to the core says more about you than it does about the world. You remind me very much of JW's that believe that everyone [else] in in the "hands of the wicked". Are you still mentally in?

Same story with my JW brother. After my bringing up judge Rutherford false prophecies, Beth Sarim and drunkenness.". Well, my brother's explanation was "it doesn't matter, Jehovah used brother Rutherford to grow the org"
Or the printed story about how Jehovah wanted Russell to have two mistakes (536 bce fall of Babylon and the fact that Russell overlooked the absence of year zero in the Gregorian calendar to do his calculations) in his 1914 prophecy so he could land in ...well....1914. Yep, divine guidance, even in the mistakes.
It is impossible for a JW to be wrong. Just amazing!

You are right. JW's "attending" carts seem to be hoping no one approaches them lest is an apostate bringing up child abuse charges against mother

Why I have renounced Atheism and become a believer again
by cantleave ini have always said that if a god showed itself i would follow the evidence and renounce my atheism.
i have now seen enough to start believing again, i am so happy, i feel a inner contentment, when he connected with me i really knew it was him.
if you are not a believer you will not understand this, but trust me, look at the evidence, open your heart to him, let him in and your life will change for the better.

God, since I have no idea of the meaning of the word God for you, then I have to say maybe?
God that cares about human affairs and intervenes, hell no!
God that deserves worship, hell no! The very word "worship" makes it a human creation.

What do you expect in a city where the population is almost all undocumented. They ran out of legal residents and citizens. Some human has to be in the council. -

JW's accussed to be Russian spies
by never a jw ini have been exchanging emails with my brother who is a jw.
i tried to convince him to watch the hearings of the royal commission, but he sent me a long list of reasons why he didn't trust "la obra teatral" (theater) and therefore he wouldn't watch anything.
he went on a rant of persecution stories in australia and how various governments would try to impede the preaching work.

fahrvegnugen,
I hate to admit it, but you are right. Nothing against you, I just naively thought that, given the mountains of evidence against the WT regarding many subjects, I would be able to talk him out of his devotion to WT. He and his wife are actually very happy in the Org and I am afraid that they can not conceive life without mother org.
